For weekends and holidays throughout the year, Brompton Lakes offers 5-star, luxury facilities and accommodation for groups and clubs. We have 20 stylish eco lodges, which can be booked out individually or in groups - ideal if you are looking for a base for a walking club, yoga retreat or fishing party.

Set in 26 acres of landscaped grounds, about 2 miles from the historic market town of Richmond in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Brompton Lakes provides a stunning natural environment for getting away from it all. This is coupled with second-to-none facilities and an attention to detail that makes for a perfect leisure break.

Brompton Lakes is easily accessible and enjoys a central location close to major road and rail networks. It is 4 miles from the A1/A66 interchange at Scotch Corner, 12 miles from the mainline railway station at Darlington and 18 miles from Durham Tees Valley Airport.

We try and meet the individual requirements of each group or organisation but some of our main facilities and services are described below.

Accommodation

Our award-winning residential lodges offer unique and stylish 5-star accommodation for groups of up to six people. Built to a unique contemporary design from wood and glass with living plant roofs, the lodges have three large bedrooms, a comfortable lounge and dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. Each one is luxuriously finished in terms of interior design and specification. Luscious fabrics, solid wood flooring, bespoke kitchens, plasma TVs and rotating log burning stoves all add up to an unforgettable place to stay. Outside, private decking areas overhang the lake - perfect for relaxing at any time of day and watching the world go by.

Activities

Brompton Lakes offers something for everyone whether you want a high adrenalin activity break or somewhere just to chill out and relax. You don’t have to go far to find something to do. Brompton Lakes has its own tennis court, boulés pitch, group barbeque area and the lakes themselves (and adjacent stretch of private river) offer superb fishing opportunities. There are also complimentary mountain bikes for our guests to borrow.

While the site itself offers a high degree of peace and tranquility, Brompton Lakes is on the doorstep of one of the UK’s most popular national parks. From here, you can explore the beautiful surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales with access to miles of superb walking, cycling routes and a wealth of places to visit.

Any number of organised activities can also be laid on specifically for your group, ranging from mountain biking, paintballing and quad biking to high ropes adventure courses, bobsleigh runs and orienteering – all nearby to Brompton Lakes. We can also arrange photography courses, painting classes or cookery demonstrations, or, for those who really want to take it easy and be pampered, we offer a full range of beauty treatments and therapies that can be carried out in the comfort of your own lodge.

The Plantation Room

Although each lodge accommodates up to six people and has generous open-plan living and dining spaces, we also have a separate function room that can be hired out for larger groups. Decorated in a colonial style with stunning hand-painted wall murals, the room can hold up to 20 people for daytime activities (for instance painting classes, yoga or craft demonstrations) and with a few of our special finishing touches it can quickly transform itself into an elegant venue for evening events and sit down meals. The Plantation Room has its own separate washroom facilities and kitchen.

Catering Services

Private kitchen facilities are adjacent to the Plantation Room but a full catering service is also available offering anything from freshly brewed coffee and home-made pastries, to buffet lunches and three-course dinners.
