Another ‘Green’ award for Brompton Lakes

We are delighted to have received another award recognising our commitment to all things eco friendly.

Now in their second year, the Richmondshire Green Awards are given by the Local Strategic Partnership to highlight and applaud outstanding green initiatives in the area and Brompton Lakes was selected in the Sustainable Tourism category.

At a special ceremony held at the beginning of November, Chair of the Local Strategic Partnership, Cllr Melva Steckles, praised the work being done locally in this field: “I am delighted to be able to present these prestigious awards to the worthy winners in 2010. It is important that we congratulate the hard work that has gone into these initiatives and celebrate their success.”

This is the latest in a string of green accolades for Brompton Lakes, which has also received a Gold David Bellamy Award, a Silver medal at the Green Apple Awards and the Yorkshire Post Environment Award.
